Heute erscheint „Die völlige Abwesenheit von Punk“, das zweite Album des Kölner Multiinstrumentalisten Roman Biewer alias DISSO!VER, auf Vinyl und digital. Biewer bedient sich in seiner Musik verschiedenster Genres wie Krautrock, Indierock, Hamburger Schule, Dream Pop, Shoegaze und New Wave. Diese ergänzt er mit seiner prägnanten, monotonen Stimme und eigenwilligen Texten. So wird im Titelstück des Albums die selbstkritische Frage gestellt, ob man den repetitiven Trott im profanen Alltagsjob überhaupt noch als Gefangensein im kapitalistischen System empfindet, oder ob im heimlichen Genuss der Gewohnheit nicht längst das Feuer, auszubrechen, erloschen ist. „Lieber wieder Strand – statt Stress im Widerstand“.
Zuletzt erschien die Single „A Fantasy Of Realness“, mit der Disso!ver einen wahnsinnig groovenden Neokraut-Funk-Fiebertraum der Extraklasse ablieferte. Sozusagen eine Miniatur-Symphonie in viereinhalb Minuten: Funkige Gitarren, Analoge Synthesizer-Spuren bis zum Himmel, Schlittengeläut (!), Flöten (!!), Zwillingsbasssoli (!!!), und last but sowas von überhaupt nicht least das unwiderstehliche Schlagzeug von Jan Philipp Janzen (Die Sterne, Von Spar, Urlaub In Polen) als Kirsche auf der Torte. Textlich wiederum ist der Song ein lyrisches Labyrinth aus Sehnsüchten und Gegenwartsüberforderung, bei dem man sich fragt: „Wo geht’s hier raus?“

Today sees the release of ‘Die völlige Abwesenheit von Punk’, the second album by Cologne-based multi-instrumentalist Roman Biewer alias DISSO!VER, on vinyl and digitally. Biewer’s music draws on a wide variety of genres such as krautrock, indie rock, Hamburg school, dream pop, shoegaze and new wave. He complements these with his concise, monotone voice and unconventional lyrics. The title track of the album poses the self-critical question of whether the repetitive grind of a mundane everyday job is still perceived as being trapped in the capitalist system, or whether the fire to break out has long since gone out in the secret enjoyment of habit. ‘Better the beach again – instead of stress in resistance’.
Most recently, the single ‘A Fantasy Of Realness’ was released, with which Disso!ver delivered an insanely grooving neo-kraut funk fever dream in a class of its own. A miniature symphony in four and a half minutes, so to speak: Funky guitars, analogue synth tracks up to the sky, sleigh bells (!), flutes (!!), twin bass solos (!!!), and last but so not least the irresistible drums of Jan Philipp Janzen (Die Sterne, Von Spar, Urlaub In Polen) as the cherry on the cake. Lyrically, the song is a lyrical labyrinth of longings and the overwhelming demands of the present, which makes you ask yourself: ‘Where do we go from here?’
