Heute ist „One Of The Laziest Takes“, die neue EP von CADAVRE DE SCHNAPS erschienen. Mit dieser untermauern sie ihren Status als Wundertüte der Kölner Indieszene. Wurzelnd in 80er-Indie, Artrock und Punk gibt es auch nach fast zehnjährigem Bestehen kein Schema, in das man die Musik eindeutig einordnen könnte. Was auch die neuesten Songs mehr als Genreeinflüsse eint, ist vielmehr der heiter-melancholisch-intensive Vibe, der hier mehr denn je in organisch fließenden Songstrukturen daherkommt.
Vorab erschien bereits der Song „Lullaby“. Der Song beginnt als locker-flockiger Artrock mit verqueren harmonischen Elementen, nimmt in der repetitiven Bridge langsam Fahrt auf, geht in einem noisigen Klimax auf und sinkt am Ende in eine träumerische Coda herab. Die Verquickung der verschiedenen Parts steht passend als Blaupause für den musikalischen Ansatz der Band, die sich gerne besonderen Ausdrucksmitteln bedient und es versteht, diese in einen stimmigen Kontext zu setzen.

„One Of The Laziest Takes“, the new EP from CADAVRE DE SCHNAPS, was released today. With this EP, they underline their status as a wonder bag of the Cologne indie scene. Rooted in 80s indie, art rock and punk, even after almost ten years of existence, there is still no clear way to categorise their music. What unites the latest songs more than genre influences is the cheerful, melancholic and intense vibe, which comes across here more than ever in organically flowing song structures.
The song „Lullaby“ was released in advance. The song begins as a light and fluffy art rock with strange harmonic elements, slowly picks up speed in the repetitive bridge, builds up to a noisy climax and sinks into a dreamy coda at the end. The interweaving of the different parts is a fitting blueprint for the band’s musical approach, which likes to use special means of expression and knows how to place them in a harmonious context.
