Es sind andere Menschen, vor denen ihr euch in Acht nehmen solltet. Die Menschen sind die Monster. Die neue Single „Monsters“ erinnert uns daran, dass Menschen nicht immer das sind, was sie zu sein scheinen, und ist inspiriert von „Buffy The Vampire Slayer“, der TV-Serie aus den 90er Jahren. Mit dem für BROKEN DREAMS CLUB typischen eingängigen Refrain, Indie-Gitarren und einer Laufzeit von etwa zwei Minuten dringt der Song sofort in euer Gehirn ein und bleibt dort haften.
„Monsters“ ist die erste Single aus dem Album „Lies My Parents Told Me“, dem ersten von BROKEN DREAMS CLUB. Es ist inspiriert von „Buffy The Vampire Slayer“, der TV-Serie aus den 90er Jahren, die derzeit für ein Remake vorbereitet wird, und hat seinen Namen von einer der Episoden. Es handelt sich nicht um ein Konzeptalbum, sondern eher um eine Erkundung der Themen und Charaktere der TV-Serie, die einen großen Teil unserer Jugend geprägt hat. Das Album erscheint an Halloween und verspricht eine Hommage an die dunklere Seite des Lebens.
BROKEN DREAMS CLUB, ein einsames Schlafzimmerprojekt, das zu einer legitimen Live-Band wurde, ist die Idee von Amy aus Bristol, UK. Der Name Broken Dreams Club stammt von einer gleichnamigen EP der amerikanischen Band Girls. Amy sprach Christopher Owens von der Band über Twitter (RIP) an, ob sie den Namen verwenden könne, und er sagte: „Nur zu“. Gesagt, getan. Amy schreibt, spielt und nimmt ihre gesamte Musik selbst auf und rekrutiert dann Mitglieder der Musikszene in Bristol, um sie live zu spielen. Ihr Produzent ist Marco Kallenborn alias der Singer-Songwriter CITIZEN TIM.

„Monsters“ is the first single from the album „Lies My Parents Told Me“, the first full length record from BROKEN DREAMS CLUB. Not quite a concept album – more of an exploration of the themes and characters of the TV show, which shaped a lot of our youth. Out on Halloween, expect a celebration of the darker side of life.
BROKEN DREAMS CLUB, a lonely bedroom project turned legitimate live band, is the project of Amy from Bristol, UK. The name Broken Dreams Club comes from an EP of the same name by American band Girls. Amy approached Christopher Owens of the band on Twitter (RIP) to use the name and he said „Go for it“. No sooner said than done. Amy writes, plays and records all her own music and then recruits members of the Bristol music scene to play it live. Her producer is Marco Kallenborn aka the singer-songwriter CITIZEN TIM.
