„Neonschein“ heißt die Debütsingle von WIR SIND FLIEGEN. WIR SIND FLIEGEN definieren den Begriff Punk nicht neu – das scheint eh unmöglich zu sein. Viel mehr wird der Begriff auf das Wesentliche runtergebrochen. Das Duo aus Saarbrücken spielt einen dunklen Mix aus Elektro und Punk und versucht dabei, nicht modern rüberzukommen. Die zwei Musiker schmeißen dermaßen erfrischend Elemente aus verschiedenen Genres zusammen, die am Ende wieder klassisch und auch etwas „wavig“ klingen, dass man nicht wirklich einzuschätzen vermag, die Songs zeitlich zu zuordnen.
Die Single „Neonschein“ ist die Momentaufnahme einer Nacht, die fast jede*r schon mal erlebt hat – ein Augenblick der Einsamkeit und des Nachdenkens nach einer berauschten Nacht des Vergessens. Sie ist auch auf der selbstbetitelten EP des Duos zu finden, die am 06.05.2022 digital sowie als limitiertes Tape (50 Stück, mit Download Code) und limitierte CD (100 Stück, mit Download Code) erscheinen wird.
„Neonschein“ is the title of WIR SIND FLIEGEN‘s debut single. WIR SIND FLIEGEN do not redefine the term punk – that seems impossible anyway. Much more the term is broken down to the essentials. The duo from Saarbrücken plays a dark mix of electro and punk and tries not to come across as modern. The two musicians throw such refreshing elements from different genres together, which in the end again sound classic and also a bit „wavy“, that one is not really able to estimate to assign the songs in time.
The single „Neonschein“ is a snapshot of a night that almost everyone has experienced – a moment of loneliness and reflection after an intoxicated night of oblivion.
