Sascha Wiercinski alias Old Nobody sowie Oliver Kroker und Matthias Ballke von den Shoegazern Casino Garden präsentieren ihr gemeinsames digitales Album „Stroke“. Es ist ein Album wie ein Herzschlag nach dem Stillstand und erscheint heute, genau am 20. Jahrestag des schweren Schlaganfalls von Wiercinskis Ehefrau.
Old Nobody, Teil des viel beachteten Projekts No Body, eine Kooperation mit Aydo Abay (Ex-Blackmail) und Thomas Götz (Beatsteaks), geht mit „Stroke“, seinem inzwischen zehnten Album, einen radikal persönlichen Weg. Das Werk verarbeitet den Schlaganfall seiner Frau, der einen tiefen Einschnitt ins gemeinsame Leben darstellte. Seitdem kämpft sie mit der Sprache. Dieses Album gibt ihr eine Stimme – in Klängen, die sagen, was Worte nicht mehr können. „Stroke“ ist Hommage, Brücke und Weckruf zugleich: Vorsorge rettet Leben. Und manchmal bringt Musik uns zurück. „Stroke“ ist keine Klage, sondern ein kraftvolles Zeichen: für Liebe, Veränderung und das, was bleibt.
Die Songs wurden von Old Nobody allein geschrieben und zusammen mit oben genannten Casino Garden-Mitgliedern umgesetzt. Das Ergebnis ist eine eindringliche Mischung aus Post- und Indierock, Wucht und Zerbrechlichkeit, Reha und Rückkehr, Sprachlosigkeit und Hoffnung.
„Stroke“ wurde von Jo Philippi (Vandermeer) gemixt, der auch bei No Bodys Debut-Album „Loves You“ (Old Nobody mit Aydo Abay und Thomas Götz) an den Reglern saß. Gemastert wurde es von David Indelof.

It is an album that feels like a heartbeat resuming after a standstill, and is out today – exactly 20 years to the day since Wiercinski’s wife suffered a severe stroke.
Old Nobody, part of the highly acclaimed No Body project – a collaboration with Aydo Abay (formerly of Blackmail) and Thomas Götz (Beatsteaks) – takes a radically personal direction with „Stroke“, his tenth album to date. The work deals with his wife’s stroke, which marked a profound turning point in their life together. Since then, she has struggled with language. This album gives her a voice – in sounds that say what words can no longer express. „Stroke“ is at once a tribute, a bridge and a wake-up call: prevention saves lives. And sometimes music brings us back. „Stroke“ is not a lament, but a powerful statement: for love, change and what remains.
The songs were written solely by Old Nobody and produced in collaboration with the aforementioned members of Casino Garden. The result is a haunting blend of post-rock and indie rock, power and fragility, recovery and return, speechlessness and hope.
„Stroke“ was mixed by Jo Philippi (Vandermeer), who also handled the mixing for No Body’s debut album „Loves You“ (Old Nobody featuring Aydo Abay and Thomas Götz). It was mastered by David Indelof.
