„Italy“ ist die zweite Vorabauskopplung aus COLLETTIs Debütalbum „Anything That Burns“, das am 9. Mai auf Barhill Records erscheint.
Worum es in dem Song geht, beschreibt die Singer-Songwriterin aus Saarbrücken wie folgt: „’Italy‘ war eines meiner allerersten Lieder, als ich 2020 wieder anfing zu schreiben. Live gespielt habe ich es nie, und ich bin jetzt noch nicht sicher, ob ich das je tun werde – keine Ahnung. Einen Stein so lange vor sich her zu rollen, bis er klein genug ist, um ihn einstecken zu können – das beschreibt den Kern von ‚Italy‘ vielleicht am besten. Die Mandoline hat mich ganz schön Nerven gekostet und mir einige Blasen an den Fingern beschert. Aber am Ende war ich froh, dass ich es durchgezogen und am Ende hinbekommen habe. Wie mit dem Stein, den hab ich inzwischen auch eingesteckt.“

„Italy“ is the second pre-release from COLLETTI’s debut album “Anything That Burns”, which will be released on 9 May on Barhill Records.
The singer-songwriter from Saarbrücken, Germany, describes what the song is about as follows: „’Italy‘ was one of my very first songs when I started writing again in 2020. I never played it live, and I’m not sure if I ever will – no idea. Rolling a stone in front of you until it’s small enough to pick it up and pocket it – that perhaps describes the essence of ‚Italy‘ best. Recording the mandolin part was quite nerve-wracking and gave me a few blisters on my fingers. But in the end I was glad that I pulled through. Like with the stone: I’ve pocketed that one meanwhile too.“
