Überraschung: THE SATELLITE YEAR melden sich zurück – mit dem Titelsong ihres am 30.05.2025 erscheinenden Albums „Shipwreck“.
Bis vor einigen Monaten hießen sie noch ATLANTA ARRIVAL, doch nun sind THE SATELLITE YEAR unter altem Namen wieder zurück und bringen über Barhill Records ihr drittes Album „Shipwreck“ heraus. Die Songs stammen zum Teil noch aus ATLANTA ARRIVAL-Zeiten, sind mal düster und atmosphärisch, mal 80er-Synthpop, mal bodenständiger Emo alter Schule. Aber immer mit den hymnischen Refrains, die einem nicht mehr aus dem Kopf gehen und wie man sie von THE SATELLITE YEAR her kennt. Dieses Album steht für eine Transformation, den künstlerischen Übergang von Atlanta Arrival zurück zu The Satellite Year.
Das sagt die Band über ihre Comeback-Single „Shipwreck“: „Der Song nimmt dich mit auf eine emotionale Reise, bei der ein Schiffswrack die innere Zerrissenheit und Einsamkeit der Depression verkörpert. Zwischen dunklen Wellen und treibenden Trümmern schimmert ein Licht der Hoffnung, das den Weg zurück ans Ufer weist. Einmal mehr ein Beispiel wie man Trost in der Musik finden kann.“

Surprise: THE SATELLITE YEAR are back – with the title track of their upcoming album „Shipwreck“, which will be released on 30 May 2025.
Until a few months ago they were still called ATLANTA ARRIVAL, but now THE SATELLITE YEAR are back under their old name and are releasing their third album „Shipwreck“ via Barhill Records. Some of the songs date back to the ATLANTA ARRIVAL days, sometimes dark and atmospheric, sometimes 80s synthpop, sometimes down-to-earth old-school emo. But always with the anthemic choruses that you can’t get out of your head and that you know from THE SATELLITE YEAR. This album represents a transformation, the artistic transition from Atlanta Arrival back to The Satellite Year.
This is what the band says about their comeback single „Shipwreck“: „The song takes you on an emotional journey where a shipwreck embodies the inner turmoil and loneliness of depression. Between dark waves and drifting wreckage, a light of hope shimmers, pointing the way back to shore. Once again an example of how you can find solace in music.“
