„Wenn Du ein Kind hast, kannst Du das mit der Musik erst mal knicken!“ – Ein dämlicher Spruch mit dem sich CITIZEN TIM (Marco Kallenborn) so gar nicht identifizieren kann; im Gegenteil: Nach dem Release seines letzten Albums „C Is For Chaos/Control“ im Jahr 2020 (auf Midsummer Records) ging es nach der Geburt seiner Tochter und noch während der Pandemie nahtlos über ins kreative Schaffen am dritten Album „Protect Your Golden Heart“, das im September 2023 als Co-Release bei Barhill Records und Midsummer Records erscheinen wird.
Die erste Single „Tiny Footsteps“ handelt davon, dass sich die Dinge mit einem Kind selbstverständlich ändern, man jedoch den Fokus auch auf die eigene Ehe und das eigene Dasein richten sollte – auch wenn man gleichzeitig den Anspruch hat, der bester Vater der Welt zu sein. „Wie soll denn bitte was Gesundes wachsen, wenn Du nur noch als sogenannter Papi und Mami existierst? Musik ist seit 20 Jahren ein fester Bestandteil meines Lebens und selbst wenn ich keine 30 Shows mehr pro Jahr spiele und die Zeit mit meiner Tochter in vollen Zügen genieße, ist es gleichzeitig auch wichtig, dass ich eine liebevolle Ehe mit meiner Frau habe und mich kreativ ausleben kann“, so CITIZEN TIM.
Entstanden ist das Album erneut in kompletter Eigenregie. Und auch hier scheint CITIZEN TIM nicht müde zu werden, hat er doch mittlerweile sein eigenes kleines Business gegründet, um zahlreiche Künstlerinnen und Künstler im Bereich Mixing und Mastering unterstützen zu können. Es sieht also immer noch nicht so aus, als würde er sich samstags nachmittags im Fußballtrikot gemütlich vor den Fernseher hauen.

„When you have a child, you can forget about music for the time being!“ – A stupid saying that CITIZEN TIM (Marco Kallenborn) can’t identify with at all; on the contrary: after the release of his last album „C Is For Chaos/Control“ in 2020 (on Midsummer Records), the birth of his daughter and still during the pandemic, he went seamlessly over to the creative work on his third album „Protect Your Golden Heart“, which will be released in September 2023 as a co-release on Barhill Records and Midsummer Records.
The first single, „Tiny Footsteps“, is about the fact that things change with a child, of course, but that one should also focus on one’s own marriage and existence – even if at the same time one has the claim to be the best father in the world. „How is something healthy supposed to grow if you only exist as a so-called daddy and mommy? Music has been an integral part of my life for 20 years and even if I don’t play 30 shows a year anymore and enjoy the time with my daughter to the fullest, it is also important that I have a loving marriage with my wife and that I can live out my creativity,“ says CITIZEN TIM.
The album was once again completely self-directed. And CITIZEN TIM doesn’t seem to get tired here either, as he has meanwhile founded his own small business in order to be able to support numerous artists in the field of mixing and mastering. So it still doesn’t look like he’s sitting in front of the TV in a football shirt on Saturday afternoons.
