Flares: Michael Jackson cover & Making of-Video out now!

„The ‚King of Pop‘ was and is an artist, whose work andvariety we all in the band do admire and appreciate since our childhood. In thesummer of 2015, we decided to create our own version of ‚They Don’t Care AboutUs‘.

Well, you could see it this way: The beginning is dominatedby a Moogish sound, then the song scuffs a The Police-like reggae area, goes onwith with offensive metal riffs and ends with the concise rhythm pattern ofMichael Jackson’s original.“ (Flares, Dezember 2018)

The Saarbrücken five-piece Flares have been playing instrumental post-rock, with a decent helping of prog-rock, since 2007. Their sound has been influenced by bands such as Oceansize, Mogwai and Boards Of Canada. After the self-released EPs „Levitation“ (2008) and „Kingdom Come“ (2012, nominated „Demo of the Month“ by German magazine „VISIONS“), the band‘s first LP, „Solar Empire“, was released by the Karlsruhe-based indie label Wolves & Vibrancy Records in May 2014. Their new album „Allegorhythms“, produced by keyboardist Mike Balzer, was just released on the German indie label Barhill Records.

Apart from that, the band just released a Making Of-video of recording their album „Allegorhythms“: https://youtu.be/oPfI-fNtA28

Watch the German progressive post-rockers recording their album „Allegorhythms“ in their own studio.
