Mit „Più Più“ kommt die zweite Single Auskopplung aus „Grand Bruit“, dem dritten Album von vandermeer: Eine brachiale Indie-Rock-Nummer mit Shoegaze-Elementen, die zwischen Dur und Moll pendelt. „Più Più“ überrascht mit einem knüppelharten Realitätscheck wider jede traditionelle Form.
Es drescht förmlich auf den Zuhörer ein und spiegelt im Text indes den stetigen Overload, die immer wieder auffordernde „ALLES MUSS“-Situation, während man der Zeit hinterherhechelt. Immer hundert Prozent geben und dennoch nicht fertig werden; immer mehr und mehr – Più Più! Immer mitreden wollen, ohne die Zeit zu haben, sich länger als fünf Minuten mit einem Thema zu beschäftigen – und das beim permanenten Social-Media-Informations-Overkill. Kann es sein, dass wir uns da etwas verrannt haben? Auf jeden Fall! Gescheitert – in Wut – in Rage sucht man den einzig sicheren Platz, während die Fassade bröckelt, und man den Halt verliert. Und während des Hörens und Mitsingen möchte man fast sagen: Atmen nicht vergessen!

It literally thrashes at the listener and mirrors in the lyrics the constant overload, the always demanding „EVERYTHING MUST“ situation, while you are chasing time. Always giving one hundred percent, and yet not being able to finish; always more and more – Più Più! Always wanting to have a say, without having the time to spend more than five minutes on a topic – and that with the permanent social media information overkill. Could it be that we got lost? Absolutely! Failed – in rage – looking for the only safe place while the facade collapses, and you lose your grip. And while listening and singing along, one almost wants to say: don’t forget to breathe!
