CADAVRE DE SCHNAPS oszillierten seit ihrer Bandgründung 2015 zwischen schroffem DIY-Indie und Artrock-inspirierten Experimenten. Zum Release der neuen EP „Unlearning By Doing“ gibt es vorab die Single „Balloon (Modern Version)“, die auf deutliche Weise eine neue Richtung vorgibt: Eine einschmeichelnde Gitarren-Phrase und ein pulsierender Synthesizer fließen nahtlos ins Ohr, das reduzierte Arrangement gibt der Stimme Luft zur Entfaltung – hier wird Pop zelebriert. Zumindest eine Abart von Pop, denn in Sachen Songstruktur, Sound-Design und Lyrics scheinen die immanenten Eigenschaften der Band weiterhin klar durch. Laut Bandkopf Jeong-Il Sin ist „Balloon (Modern Version)“ „ihr zugänglichster Song. Durch die kompaktere und klarere Form verweist er auch schon gut darauf, was die EP im Gesamten ausmacht.“

Since their formation in 2015, CADAVRE DE SCHNAPS have oscillated between rugged DIY indie and art rock-inspired experimentation. The new song „Balloon (Modern Version)“ clearly sets a new direction: An ingratiating guitar phrase and a pulsating synthesizer flow seamlessly into the ear, the reduced arrangement gives the voice room to unfold – here pop is celebrated. At least a variety of pop, because in terms of song structure, sound design and lyrics, the band’s immanent characteristics continue to shine through clearly. According to bandleader Jeong-Il Sin, „Balloon (Modern Version)“ is „their most accessible song. With its more compact and clear form, it also already points well to what the EP as a whole is all about.“
