Nach vielen Jahren Vorlauf erscheint heute endlich „Dolce“, die digitale Debüt-EP der NEARLY ITALIANS. Zugleich erscheint heute das Video zu dem Song „Douglas“. Der Eröffnungstrack ist ein erfrischender Song mit einer eingängigen Melodie und einem ebensolchen Refrain. Diese alten Knacker wissen eben, was sie tun.
NEARLY ITALIANS sind eine vierköpfige Power-Pop/Rock-Band aus Saarbrücken. Das Gründungsjahr der Herren, die sich dem Gitarren-Fuzz-Pop voller Gesangsmelodien verschrieben haben, liegt weit zurück. Damals war Jörkk Mechenbier noch fest als Sänger eingeplant, der sich jedoch zügig aus dem Staub machte und als charmanter Salonlöwe mit LOVE A loslegte. Er hinterließ eine Lücke am Gesang und den linguistisch diskussionswürdigen Bandnamen.
Die Jahre zogen ins Land und das Line-up mutierte mehrfach, aber nun hat diese charmante Band ihre ersten fünf Songs eingespielt, mehrfach verfeinert und an ihrer musikalischen Vision gefeilt. Diese Band kann mit diesen fünf Songs 90 Minuten auf die Bühne und zwischen den Songs mit Geschichten aus ihrer Vergangenheit die Zeit füllen. Es steckt viel Grandezza in ihrer Musik, viel Vita und viel Dolce.
