Nach der erfolgreichen Veröffentlichung ihrer EP „Searching For Former Solace“ (11.03.2022) und zahlreichen Konzerten (u.a. auf dem US-Festival „The Fest“ in Gainesville, Florida) hat COLLETTI einen brandneuen Song geschrieben. „Weeki Wachee” wurde unter der Regie von Marco Kallenborn (CITIZEN TIM) und zusammen mit Gastmusiker Christian Both alias Bo von THRILL OF JOY aufgenommen.
Das sagt sie selbst zu „Weeki Wachee“: „Die Melodie hatte ich schon seit Monaten im Kopf, aber ich brachte einfach keinen Text dazu hin. Er trieb mir buchstäblich entgegen, als ich im Urlaub mit dem Kanu den Weeki Wachee River entlang paddelte. Es lagen ein paar faule Urlaubstage hinter mir, ich lebte einfach in den Tag hinein und wusste nicht einmal, wo wir überhaupt gerade waren – fast wie zu Kindertagen. Ich war wehmütig und wollte nicht zurück ins echte Leben. ‚Weeki Wache‘ ist ein Abschiednehmen – vom Kindsein und von der Unschuld. Es ist auch eine Erkenntnis: Dass da jemand ist, der es schafft, die Unbeschwertheit aus Kindertagen noch manchmal in dir zurückzuholen.“

After the successful release of her EP „Searching For Former Solace“ (11.03.2022) and numerous concerts (including at the US festival „The Fest“ in Gainesville, Florida), COLLETTI has written a brand new song. She recorded „Weeki Wachee“ under the direction of Marco Kallenborn (CITIZEN TIM) and together with guest musician Christian Both aka Bo from THRILL OF JOY.
This is what she herself says about „Weeki Wachee“: “I had been stuck with the tune in my head for months but just could not come up with proper lyrics for it. They literally drifted towards me when I was paddling along the Weeki Wachee River during our vacation. I had a few lazy days behind me, just living in the moment, and sometimes I didn’t even know where we were – almost like childhood days. I was nostalgic and didn’t want to go back to real life. ‘Weekie Wache’ is a farewell to childhood and innocence. It is also an epiphany: There is this one person who manages to bring back the lightheartedness of childhood days in you.”
